M.A.C.E.
Recently, members of BLACKOUT came out to support an open mic night held at Columbia's IRC and raised awareness about Mississippi Action for Community Education, M.A.C.E, an organization in the Mississippi Delta. Under the auspices of both local and national civil rights activists, MACE was created as part of a larger vision to create a strong community that would activate change in both official policies and social circumstances affecting the community. To Learn More About MACE and the work they do, check out their webpage Mississippi Action for Community Education (MACE)
The event was one of the many ways BLACKOUT reaches out to and gets involved with their community and also represents the organization's larger vision of bringing members of different communities together.
