This section is meant to chronicle the various ways in which BAC has been engaged in realizing their mission goals and creative vision. Members of the collective have led workshops in a wide variety of settings from conventions (NASAA, New Orleans Blues Project) and universities (Columbia, NYU) to jails and prisons (Rikers Island) and all points in between. In the future, we hope to collaborate with the BAC directly to complie a listing of all the conferences, events and workshops they have facilitated. For the time being, the following links give an approximation of their activities.
- A Village Voice article by BAC co-founder Bryonn Bain about his experiences with the NYPD from 2000.
- An article about Lyrics on Lockdown in Lousiana by BAC co-founders Bryonn Bain and Taij Monteellal for The Vision webzine.
- An Interview with Laurent Alfred who worked on BAC's Lyrics on Lockdown tour that we conducted for this wiki project is linked here.
- In 2002 BAC was a recipient of the Union Square Award, which seeks to encourage grassroots activism as a means of strengthening communities throughout New York City.
