MAKE THE ROAD BY WALKING

Comments by Prof. Kelley

OK, we need a home page here! I know you’re trying to be avant-garde here, but you want to get people interested in your site. Any visuals? A Mission statement? Some kind of description? We jump into Bushwick and discover that they began there, it has something to do with the large Latino population and declining income, but no clue so far what they do. This section is very rough—the writing, I mean. I’m not sure what the point is, though it assumes a certain amount of knowledge that must be tied to other pages on this site.

BTW, you need a Back to Home link or some table of contents with all links on each page for easier navigation.

So I continue with The Spark and Theory of Organizing, but still don’t know what they do, who is in it, even names of organizers, or any other descriptors. We do find out that there was some draconian legislation passed in 1997, but there is no description (yet).

Go to youth productions, and there is no link to the radio show; there is one to the mural, but what is the context? I read the description on their site but still not clear about the other organizations involved. We need something on YOUR site to put this in context.

Not sure how these Networks connect with your org. (BTW, I fixed the links so the whole name is hot rather than just the number. This is more attractive and easier to navigate, but we still need to know the relationship between these sites and MTRBW)

So you all have a lot of work to do: explaining, filling in info., re-organization, and you need some visuals or something. Also, voices from the org. are essential.

Hopefully you can work on this over the summer!!

hey i see that you visited the org and have a lot of info on your bio page, it would be cool if some of it was on the org's main page so there would be an intro to the org. i'm sure you will get to it when you get the chance but just in case, thought i'd add my two cents. any feedback on the CAAAV page will be appreciated. theresa

hey guys, your site is a little hard to understand. i wasn't exactly sure what each of the links meant before i clicked on them, they seemed really random. Maybe some visuals/intro paragraphs would make the main page more interesting. good work though, Jamarah
