I am an African-Asian-American of many homes and none at all.
Born in Harare, Zimbabwe to a wonderful Japanese-American African-at-heart, I have had the fortune to:
- live a childhood of sticky sweet Washington, DC nights complete with sunflower seeds, rallies on the mall, and Baltimore Aquarium outings
- spend the majority of my adolescence under a big blue South African sky, surrounded by sweet songs of survival, strong people, birds of paradise and clean, crisp air...
- be reminded of the superiority of nature many times; Picture: only an endless expanse of blue ocean to your left...only miles and miles of rolling garnet/diamond flecked red sand dunes to your right--> this is the Namibian coast.
I am a child of 'a Northern City with a Southern Sensibility' with a Southern African soul.
I am a Peace Corps brat.
I believe in Freedom, Truth, and Justice and the struggle to attain them.
I believe in the power of a unified people.
I believe.
I believe.
" We are a proud people, a live people, a lost people, a beautiful people, an equally foul people."-
