I am a senior at Barnard majoring in Political Science. (No, I don't want to go to law school - I hope to find a job in the music business after graduation.) I am currently writing my thesis on why the Oslo Accords (the Israeli-Arab peace process of the 90's) failed. I love studying poli sci but hate discussing politics.
The last book I could not put down but didn't want to end was The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon.
Nothing gets me going like music; an amazing concert can be life changing. (Everyone should go see Zap Mama at S.O.B.'s on April 13. It will blow your mind.) I take lots of music history classes because music is as important to me sociologically and politically as it is sonically. (I'm particularly interested in music as a form of protest.)
I am amazed by how socially active some students in our class are; the diversity in passion in these bios is inspiring. Professor Kelley said that everyone in this class is interested in promoting change in some way. I hope to internalize that and get off my ass to do some good in this world.
