From Social Justice Wiki
Hi everyone. My name is Sy and I am currently a resident of West Haven, Connecticut, a small town located in New Haven County. My passion for mentoring children and achieving social justice in urban areas can be attributed to my own humble upbringing. Born into a family with three boys, I have always been the elder role model for my younger siblings. Moreover, I was lucky enough to be the first in my family to attend college and have overcome great obstacles to be at New York's Columbia University today.
Rather than boring you all with my entire life story, I just want to say that, in a nutshell, I am truly a firm believer that with hard work, we can always overcome any obstacles that come in our the way. My life experiences have ultimately proven to me that this is true. You see, life is nothing but a struggle for many of us, especially if we are members of a minority group or first-generation Americans. But we must always remember that with faith, perseverance, and support from the caring individuals in our lives, we can always rise above poverty, injustice, and great hardship. All we really need to do is try.
With that said, thank you for taking the time to read my short bio. Take care.
