-Movies: When I was seven I watched the movie Sarafina and I woke up. That will forever be my favorite movie. However, Above the Rim, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I am Sam, Do The Right Thing, etc., are pretty high up on the list.+My favorite quote is the one that has been on my room door since I was 12 "When my heart can beat no more, I hope I die for a principle or a belief that I have lived for." -Tupac

-Books: Song of Solomon, Medea, The Aeneid, House of Spirits, Things Fall Apart, Restavec (not well-known but REALLY should be), The Stranger, Tess of the D'urbervilles, Assata, James Baldwin, Alice Walker: Possessing the Secret of Joy, Greek tragedies, Peau noire masques blancs, les damnes de la terre...at this point all of Frantz Fanon's books!, Children of Herakles, Invisible Man...+

-Interests: So I just took this from the Facebook. This list can go on into infinity but basically: Piano (my refuge), politics, going on walks in solitude, music (hip-hop, esp. Tupac, but I loooveee being introduced to new types of music, it doens't happen often enough), spoken word, my family, my best friend Justine, concerts, hanging out with friends, watching basketball and football (yyeeaa Patriots!), telling jokes that only I find funny, learning about America's educational system, pictures, craziness, peace, languages, singing (to myself haha), music, justice, travelling, experimenting, conversations about something and nothing, haiti & africa, cucumbers!, being forever random, my wonderful extended family (and two new baby cousins!) in Brooklyn that keep me grounded and sane, Boston (although im loving this city, esp. the interesting times in Harlem), figuring out my place in the world through constant, interesting and challenging internal and external dialogue.I believe in change and profess to be an optimist, but my hope in society spirals downward on a daily basis.+
